Record of football deaths and injuries in 1900

From a Quincy Illinois newspaper dated 1900, here is a list of current fatalities and major injuries from playing the sport of football that year. Players are from Asheville NC, Lake Forest IL, Englewood CA, Chicago IL, Hartford City IN, Philadelphia PA, Washington DC, San Fransisco CA, Boston MA, Johnstown PA and Lowell MA.

According to the National Center for Catastrophic Injury Research, the amount of deaths in football in 1968 was 36. From 1987 to 2008 the amount of deaths in the US was in single digits. You can see the complete chart here.
